Drawing from South Asian motifs, patterns, and cultural narratives while embracing contemporary Western techniques, the brand creates meaningful, modern expressions of culture. Sim.err was born from a complicated relationship with my own name. Growing up, “Simran” was often mispronounced or made fun of, and “Simer” became a nickname I used to mask that discomfort. When that name was no longer available on social platforms, Sim.err emerged — and in many ways, it felt right.

Through Sim.err, I found my creative passion and a space to explore identity, culture, and self-expression more deeply. The name is an ode to discovering the different cultures I grew up in, coming into my own, and learning to fully own my identity. The extra err is both intentional and playful, a nod to being unique, a little weird, and embracing the beautifully imperfect spaces where creativity thrives. Sim.err’s story is about finding balance between cultures, respecting history while wanting to make history, and using art as a way to spark creativity, connection, and curiosity in others.
